Syros
Syros is the administrative capital of the Cyclades island group.  It is not
very dependent upon tourism, yet is an affluet island.  Parts of the city of
Ermoupoli have streets 'paved' with polished white marble.  This is a good place
to go to see how Greeks really live without the influence of tourism
